Reference Photos

Your pets portrait is based on the photos you send me. Follow these tips for good reference photos:

•Take the photo eye level to your pet by sitting or lying on the floor. A straight on shot works best for portraits and a photo from above may look distorted.

•Natural lighting works best either outside on a cloudy day to avoid hard shadows or indoor by a window.

•The eyes can make all the difference in a portrait so make sure you get a close clear shot with good eye clarity.

•Take several photos and use treats, toys and noise if needed to get your pets attention. If you're not sure which shot will work best send multiple photos and I will let you know what will make the best reference.

If you have an old photo of a pet that has passed away please email me first before purchase so I can let you know if I am able to work with the reference. These are often my favorite portraits to do because they are so meaningful so please don’t hesitate to email me with special requests or questions.

Can I have more than one pet in a portrait?

Yes! If you would like multiple pets in a portrait the size may need to be larger and the price will increase. If you want something other than what is available to purchase on the website please email me and I would be happy to create something for you. Is it limited to cats and dogs?

All animals are welcome! Chickens, pigs, cows, lizards, snakes, hamsters….I love creating portraits of all these special creatures. Just make sure your photos are good!

Gifting a portrait?

I am happy to drop off or mail a portrait to a special recipient! I can include a card with your message too! Please be sure to let me know this is a gift and if you want a special message included.

Special Requests

I am happy to add names and dates on pieces if requested. Please let me know in an email that you would like this information on your piece and double check the spelling and dates as I will use this information as sent for the piece. If you have any other special request such as background colors please email me immediately after purchase so I have this information before starting.

Unlike many portraits sold online today these portraits are created without the use of paint programs or digital tools. This ensures a totally unique look that is much richer than a digitally printed creation. Once I begin a piece I cannot change things easily so please be sure I have all your requests upfront. I want you to be 100% satisfied and will work with you to make your portrait perfect.

Returns

Because each piece is custom made I do not except returns. I do want you to be 100% satisfied with your portrait so please reach out if there is a problem and I will do my best to resolve it.
